Do you think you"re not a "salesperson?" You are when you"re on a job interview. Your job is to sell the interviewer into thinking that you are the best Physical Therapist that he or she could ever hire. So, in order to do that, plan on being able to talk for about 5 minutes about your background, education, experience and why you"re the best candidate for the job. A five minute monologue is around 50 sentences. Prepare those 50 sentences in advance and practice,
practice, practice.

Take some time to appear well groomed and professional looking. Although some offices are increasingly less formal with clothes, you don"t want to assume it applies to interviewees too, so phone up in advance and enquire about the dress code. If this is impossible, it"s best to err on the side of caution and appear overdressed rather than under, for the reason explained above.

Listening is not just hearing. You have to listen for the tone, the implied meaning and in some cases even the expected answer. Many times in interviews I conduct, I have to stop the candidate and tell him again what is it that I asked. For e.g. tell me about yourself is a simple enough thing to do and yet I see interviewees answering this by talking about the parents professions, the siblings education or even about their alma mater.
